Hotel Capo La Gala is a five-star hotel strategically located in Vico Equense (NA), on the stretch of the coast that leads to the heart of the Sorrentine Peninsula.
The area involved by the project consists of two terraces with a difference in height of about 1 meter, each one with a depth of about 5 meters and the upper one with a length of about 23 meters and the lower one about 33 meters.
The client also requested equipping these terraces in order to shelter guests from sudden summer storms that strike the Sorrentine coast. The umbrellas previously placed on the terraced surfaces were no longer able to guarantee the right protection.
The hypothesized solution would have to cover a large surface area, about 240 sq.m, and be inserted in a very delicate and articulated environmental and architectural context, dominated by the stone terraces and the choice of cobalt blue as a distinctive color theme.
The choice of products was a series of multi-module Med Country Elite wood pergolas for the lower terrace and multi-module Med Country Forma for the upper one. The two rows of wood structures were connected together by a system of specifically designed joins, in order to provide the system the solidity and resistance needed. All the structures were painted cobalt blue, according to the specifications of the architect involved in the project.
For the side closings side folding blinds are used, they were also made in aluminum profiles painted cobalt blue, in accordance with the wood structures.
Led spotlights were chosen for the lighting and were integrated in the windbreaker bar of the Plana cloth, made of white waterproof and black-out Opatex fabric.
