Excellence united with excellence: this is how, in a nutshell, we could describe the partnership between one of Italy’s most famous and best loved confectioners, Salvatore De Riso, and the Gibus universe.
The collaboration took place for the opening of the latest patisserie by De Riso, the pastry wizard from Campania, who is also well known for participating in cooking programmes on national television and for being the author of best-selling cookery books. The “Sal De Riso Costa d’Amalfi” opened its doors at the end of June along the splendid seafront of Minori, in the province of Salerno: a special place not only because of its wonderful location, but also because it is the only one managed directly by De Riso.
It was precisely for this new sales point that De Riso partnered Gibus, with the aim of creating an outdoor area for hosting his customers that could be used all day. To achieve this aim, five Twist bioclimatic pergolas were used, which together cover an area of approximately 100 square metres, thereby creating a true “Place Under the Sun” by Gibus, which could not be better suited to this wonderful part of the Amalfi Coast, and which blend seamlessly with the style chosen for the patisserie.
“The main requirement was to give a touch of class and elegance even to the outdoor area of the place,” explained De Riso. For the new opening, De Riso, naturally, created a patisserie and ice-cream parlour – his strong points – but also a bar and pizzeria corner, all with open kitchens. “The pergola from Gibus is something that goes beyond the concept of a lightweight cover, it is also a structure that is beautiful to look at and very practical. The system of tilting metal louvers covering the roof create the perfect microclimate inside. In addition to the undeniable quality, the aesthetics and design of the product also played a fundamental role in our choice,” explained the master confectioner with satisfaction”.
De Riso also praised the speed of installation and the work of Tekla Srl, the Gibus studio with production headquarters in Sarno, in the province of Salerno, which followed the entire design and installation process. “In 24 hours, they had prepared the rendering, plans and costs,” explained the confectioner, while the director of Tekla, Antonio Prete, described in detail the work carried out: “In just one week, using three people, we were able to hand over the finished product, inclusive of interior LED lighting. Work,” added Prete, “which will continue even in October when, in preparation for the winter season, we’ll equip the pergolas with glass side panels and a heating system to ensure optimum use in any weather condition. In every respect, and in particular due to its elegant, refined lines and practicality, the Twist pergola by Gibus has proved to be perfect for answering the needs of De Riso’s patisserie,” concluded Prete.
The aspects of excellent practicality and real advantages offered by Gibus products were reiterated, this time by De Riso: “I’m sure that during the winter we’ll have a significant return, even in economic terms; after all, we can now count on an extra room for our place, which can be used at any moment, even in bad weather, and this means not losing out on certain evenings, guaranteeing maximum comfort to our customers at all times.”
With a “Place Under the Sun” by Gibus, the “Sal De Riso Costa d’Amalfi” has become the ideal place for enjoying the pleasure of good food in an unrivalled location against the spectacular backdrop of the Amalfi Coast.
