By installing Gibus products, the very striking Guest House Hiša Denk, run by chef Gregor Vracko, can now offer its customers a terrace they can use for their entire stay; a Sun Room that provides added value to this wonderful place, which, as well as the quality of its restaurant, offers a splendid countryside setting and a totally revamped appearance thanks to extensive renovation work.
It was precisely after this renovation work that the Guest House, which is situated in Zgornja Kungota, in the north-east of Slovenia near the Austrian border, found its ideal complement in two Twist pergolas made by Gibus. First of all the covering satisfied the precise need for an entertaining area, as Vracko explained: “We required a structure that created shade in a particularly exposed, sunny and very hot area. It also needed to be resistant to water.”
For this reason the initial idea of using shade sails was rejected. “The functionality would have been limited and they wouldn’t have guaranteed shelter from the rain,” explained Oton Filipič, owner of the Atelier Ralux of Nova Gorica, who Vracko turned to after seeing the excellent quality of the materials and particular attention to design that Gibus’ products offered. “After analysing the situation, we almost immediately opted for Twist, which proved to be ideal for what the customer had in mind,” continued Filipič. He added: “We intervened by making the most of the space, which has an L-shape. We therefore used two Twist pergolas, one larger than the other, as the solution. In this way, we could enclose the two adjoining areas, one of which was 4.5 x 6.7 metres, the other 4.19 x 5.5 metres.” It is a structure that could, if needed, be closed along the sides by adding glass doors or windows.
From the point of view of design, Twist by Gibus integrated perfectly with new look of the building thanks to its clean, minimalist and elegant lines – a style also chosen for the guest house. The colours also helped achieve this aesthetic harmony: the Med Twist structures are made in an anthracite colour, exactly the same as the metal parts of this wonderful guest house.
The result, as Chef Vracko confirms, is exceptional from every point of view: from efficacy to efficiency, through to technology, without forgetting the aesthetic aspect. “Even the customers were intrigued and asked for information on Gibus,” confirmed the owner, who can now count on a Sun Room for his guest house.
