The masonry structures, the projecting roof, and the first-floor terraces define a precise way of welcoming light. The large south-facing windows interact with these architectural elements, which regulate solar exposure and create a continuous relationship between indoors and outdoors. It is within this balance that the choice of the Segno folding-arm awning takes shape. Not an accessory added later, but a design decision. Sized and positioned to follow the rhythm of the façade, it integrates naturally into the composition, completing the architecture without altering its formal clarity.
“We didn’t simply want to protect the house from the sun,” Giulio explains. “We wanted every element to be consistent with the project. Segno felt like the right solution because it doesn’t interrupt the architecture — it accompanies it.”

The transition between the house and the garden is entrusted to a large paved terrace that extends the living space outdoors. The area in front of the living room remains open to full light, while the space near the kitchen finds in Segno a tool for measured light control. When fully extended, the awning regulates light in the most exposed area of the house, improving comfort and encouraging natural ventilation. When not in use, it retracts into its slim cassette with a clean, understated design, integrating seamlessly into the building envelope without altering its overall appearance.
