The initial request for this residential terrace in Rome, was to create an integrated covered area in front of the living room, thereby creating an extension that could be almost considered as one living space. The objective was therefore to create a second living room outdoors, which could also be used during the colder months of the year.
They decided on the Zenit pergola because they needed to be able to open the cover in parallel with the shorter side, so as to have a permanent covering (provided by the cover left when fully retracted) over the two French doors which open out onto the terrace. The span of the area that needed to be covered was 570 cm, and this was possible thanks to the wide range of measurements offered by Gibus.
The end result was exactly what we had hoped for: the living room is now “double” the size and there is a second living room outdoors, which blends seamlessly with the inside of the residence and integrates perfectly with the garden. Although the structure is fairly large – it’s almost 6 metres long and 4.2 metres wide – it is not intrusive; on the contrary, it is very understated and almost seems to make the outdoor area look bigger.
It took two and a half days to install, using two installers. The owner’s feedback was extremely positive: the product corresponds to what was planned in the design stage; the result is exactly what they wanted; and it was installed quickly and meticulously.
