The Relais Baia Bianca is an elegant and charming hotel, which has been recently built. It offers only suites and is immersed in nature, overlooking the spectacular white sand beach of Biodola, in the gulf of the same name, just a few kilometers from the capital city of Elba Island. In this exclusive context, the installation was for the restaurant reserved for hotel guests, the Bistrot Baia Bianca, whose panoramic terrace, full of charm, is around five meters deep and eleven meters long. An essential requirement for the client was to protect its guests from the sea breeze and sudden summer thunderstorms, at the same time assuring they could enjoy the sun and the marvelous view of the sea.
The first aim of the project was harmoniously inserting the Gibus Stanza del Sole® without compromising the aesthetics of the whole, characterized by volumes from the straight lines and bright architecture dominated by white. The choice was Med Room with Plana cloth. Thanks to its contemporary and minimalist design, the white pergola respects the pre-existing architectural complex, and is in perfect syntony with it. In order to install the product in a vast surface area of about fifty-five square meters, a steel girder structure was used, placed under the Med Room, in such a way as to unload all the weight onto the perimeter of the wooden structure underneath the terrace. In order to protect and shelter the guests at the Bistro Baia Bianca, the structure was closed on the side with the Skate glass panels that fold laterally, made with white aluminum profiles with the same finishing as the pergola. And, to enjoy the exclusive evening events even more, Med Room was equipped with spotlights, integrated into the Plana cloth awning, made of white Opatex fabric, both waterproof and blackout.
